"The launch of the learning centre is based on the premise that if you grow your knowledge, you'll grow your wealth. The 'super' school is an interactive, easy-to-use financial literacy tool that will help members grow their knowledge and ultimately their wealth," Sunsuper general manager Teifi Whatley said.
The online learning centre features a series of modules that cover topics such as super insurance, super tips for those starting out and retirement income.
But according to Whatley the centre is not just about superannuation.
"It features a suite of interactive audio modules about a diverse range of topics including entering the housing market, issues for couples and issues for women that can help members manage their money. Members can watch, listen and learn at their own pace," Whatley said.
The centre provides an additional service to the Sunsuper member advice centre and is part of Sunsuper's financial literacy strategy.
Sunsuper chief executive Tony Lally said there would be a focus on developing additional services for members throughout 2009.
"We're getting people to understand what retirement is really on about and ensuring they focus on building the balances they need for retirement. It's really about engaging members with extra services like advice products," he said.
The content on the learning centre will be dynamic and Sunsuper will continue to add new modules based on member demand.
"From topics such as good debt, bad debt and how to make the most of your retirement dollars, the 'super' school has heaps of material that can help members take control of their fiscal destiny and become more financially savvy at every stage of their lives," Whatley said.
