Miller's appointment was made in response to the needs of Zenith's client base, which had grown significantly in recent months, Zenith director David Wright said.
New clients include Iris Financial Group, InvestSmart, Thinc Wealth and Segue Financial Services.
"The current market environment has proved to be a vibrant one for Zenith with many adviser groups seeking greater rigour and consistency in the portfolios advisers construct for clients," Wright said.
Due to continued business growth and increased demand for Zenith's specialist research services, there was a need for additional resources to be brought on board, he said.
"The expansion of the research team will significantly enhance the provision of Zenith's high-quality, detailed research services to our expanding client base in a timely fashion," he said.
Previously an investment analyst with financial planning firm Jeena, Miller will be part of Zenith's sector review team and responsible for the review and analysis of managed funds across a range of asset classes.
While at Jeena, he completed portfolio reviews for high net worth clients, actively monitored funds on the recommended product list and provided input as a member of the investment committee.
Wright said the firm intended to make further appointments in the near future in response to the growing demand for Zenith's research services.
