Appointment comes amid changes to business

ClearView Wealth has made an appointment to a newly created role amid a spate of management changes at the company.

The group appointed Tony Thomas to the newly created role of head of operations and technology.

"As a result of our strong growth, we thought we needed to have a strong and intelligent person in charge of the operations and technology area of the business, and Tony is obviously very qualified to do that role," ClearView managing director Simon Swanson told InvestorDaily.

"It's a very important role because ClearView has a platform through which we deliver our service to our customers, our strategic partners and advisers."

Mr Thomas was previously the chief financial officer of Calliden Group Limited and has held senior executive positions at TAL, PrefSure, ING and Lumley, according to ClearView.

The appointment comes amid a spate of changes within the senior management of ClearView, including the appointment of Mike Pope as head of ClearView Financial Advice earlier this month.

ClearView also appointed Elliot Singfield as head of direct in March, as the company looked to re-focus on their direct business branch.

In October last year, ClearView's board saw a reshuffle following a takeover by CCP BidCo and entered a transitionary period until 30 June 2013.

In line with the changes, Anthony Eisen resigned as director of ClearView Wealth and, as a result of his resignation, his alternate director, Michael Jefferies, also vacated the office.

Despite the changes in management, ClearView has said its overall business strategy remains unchanged.

"We continue to take advantage of the growth we've been experiencing over the last six months and we continue to be very focused in delivering quality life insurance solutions to the adviser community, direct products to our strategic partners and wealth solutions to our wealth managers," Mr Swanson said.

"We're very much on-strategy is how I would describe it."
