Eaton Vance Management International (EVMI) has launched an Australian-domiciled equity fund, which centres on long-term capital appreciation.

The Eaton Vance (Australia) Hexavest All-Country Global Equity Fund employs a largely top-down investment style that incorporates propriety fundamental research and quantitative models.

It achieves this by investing in a diversified portfolio of common stocks.

"Expanding our investment capabilities for Australian clients continues to be a priority for Eaton Vance," EVMI managing director Niall M Quinn said.

The fund will be managed by a team of investment professionals from Hexavest, a Montreal-based investment manager, of which Eaton Vance acquired 49 per cent ownership in August last year.

Under normal market conditions the fund will invest at least 90 per cent of its net assets in equity securities.
