Hyperion has appointed Will Hartnell to its investment team, with further team expansion on the horizon.

Hyperion Asset Management has grown its investment team with the appointment of Will Hartnell as a dealer and analyst.

Further expansion is also in the pipeline.

Hartnell, who will bring the investment team in Brisbane up to five, is responsible for the execution of Hyperion's equity trading and building on research capabilities.

He joins Hyperion from PwC, where he spent five years, most recently in the mergers and acquisitions team.

But Hyperion managing director Tim Samway said despite Hartnell's recent experience, the appointment did not mean the company would pursue acquisitions.

"[His] experience is in an area of PwC which was heavily involved in valuation and that is one of the things that Hyperion is very keen on doing," Samway told InvestorDaily.

He said the company did have plans to further expand the team, but could not comment any further.

"Yes we have further expansion plans," he said.
