When British politicians and leather are mentioned in the same sentence it conjures up a particular image and raised eyebrows. But when it comes to the Australian finance industry, donning leathers means something quite different.

When British politicians and leather are mentioned in the same sentence it conjures up a particular image and raised eyebrows. But when it comes to the Australian finance industry, donning leathers means something quite different.

Thirty-eight men and women from the financial services industry set out last month on the 8th annual Corners for Kids motorcycle rally. The plan was to take in more than 2200km of roads and 3000 corners in support of the Inspire Foundation's work with young people.

Aiming for a target of $50,000 to give to the charity, the Corners for Kids rally has raised more than $250,000 for Inspire over the years.

The rally was started by industry bikers Ray Griffin, Brian Thomas and Lynn Ralph and has attracted senior executives who happily reorganise their calendars to take the annual ride.

The riders started in Mittagong in the New South Wales Southern Highlands and visited Bowral, Nowra, Ulladulla, Bateman's Bay, Bega, Eden, Jindabyne, Cooma and then travelled across the NSW border to Victoria and stopped at Omeo, Bright and Corryong.

Donations can still be made to the Corners for Kids Motorcycle Rally by visiting the Inspire Foundation website at www.inspire.org.au.
