Professional Investment Services (PIS) looks to have moved a step closer to listing on the stock exchange after its holding company secured the help of an external adviser.
Professional Investment Holdings, the holding company of PIS, has appointed Macquarie Equity Capital Markets as advisers to assist the company to examine the options available for the group's future, including the possibility of taking the group to an initial public offering.
"The PIS board made this decision after reviewing a number of quality presentations", PIS executive Robbie Bennetts said.
"The PIS board is moving into an exciting new phase of its growth. Macquarie will assist in advising the most appropriate strategy to take the company forward."
PIS have indicated its interest in becoming a listed company for a number of years. The last time the company came close was in 2004, though this attempt failed.
