Former Principal Global Investors director Justin Cowper has joined the newly-merged Tyndall/Suncorp investment management business as head of institutional.
In his new role, Cowper will lead an institutional team including John Hamer and Roger Prezens.
Suncorp/Tyndall asset management business managing director Brett Himbury said Cowper's hire further strengthened its business team.
"We have highly-talented management and investment teams, disciplined and successful investment philosophies, and now have over $28 billion under management across Australia and New Zealand," Himbury said.
"Justin has an outstanding track record in building business relationships and delivering results in the institutional market.
"He joins us as we are poised to significantly grow our already considerable presence in the Australian and New Zealand funds management industry."
At Principal, Cowper was responsible for implementing institutional sales strategy and developing strong relationships for the business.
He is a qualified chartered financial analyst and has a Bachelor of Economics.
