The search for a new chief has ended, for the Axa dealer group Tynan Mackenzie.

Paul Robertson has been named the new chief executive of Axa-owned dealer group, Tynan Mackenzie.

Robertson, who is currently Axa national manager financial planning, is expected to take over as chief in early September, Axa Australia general manager advice Peeyush Gupta told InvestorDaily.

He replaces incumbent chief Mark Meehan who resigned in July and departs the group next month.

Meehan leaves the Axa-owned dealer group to take up an internal posting with Bharti Axa Life in India.

Meehan's resignation was announced to Tynan Mackenzie staff in July and to the wider Axa group last week.

He joined Tynan Mackenzie in January 2006. In September 2006 Axa completed its acquisition of Tynan Mackenzie and Meehan was appointed chief executive and director.

A replacement for Robertson is yet to be decided, Gupta said.
