Iress Market Technology will add equities data from Asian markets to its webIress online equity information and trading platform for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

The additional data from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea is being sourced from Thomson Reuters and will be added during the first half of 2009.

The initial rollout will add five levels of bid and ask quotes with trade and volume data, and news feeds from Dow Jones and Reuters.

The release date for the Asian data feeds is pending regulatory approval.

"Full-market depth, additional news sources and company profiles may be added later on, depending on client feedback and if Iress can find appropriate sources," Iress sales and support manager Jason Rudy said.

The information provider is also developing a consolidated feed of market data for the Australian market that will aggregate data from the Australian Securities Exchange, with alternative trading systems Chi-X and AXE.

Iress said it hoped to have its consolidated market depth data available to coincide with the Chi-X and AXE markets gaining operating licences from ASIC.
