That's right, the Financial Industry Community Aid Program (FICAP) is again hosting its annual Who Wants to be a Rockstar event at the King Street Wharf Loft in Sydney.
And it's all in the name of a good cause, with the two benefiting charities in 2009 being the Australian Childhood Foundation and the Sister2sister program.
Over the past two years the event has raised over $200,000 and organisers are looking for an equally good result this year.
To date there have been nine entries looking to become the next financial services idol with competition for spots being so fierce one institution actually had to hold a 'sing-off' in the office's kitchen to select the representative on the night.
But the night isn't just to unearth a diamond in the rough. A certain celebrity factor will also be present with Sky News's Jacinta Tynan attending as a representative of the Sisiter2sister program along with five Miss Australia contestants on hand to sell raffle tickets as an added bonus.
In addition, there will also be a fundraising auction on the night with prizes such as weekend getaways and a Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb.
And if all of that isn't enough to entice you to come along, reliable sources have told this scribe there will be a repeat duet from van Eyk's Mark Thomas and Australian Unity Investments' Adam Coughlan after their rendition of the Raditator's classic, "Coming Home", last year. A must see in anyone's book.
Individual tickets to the event are not sold, so those wanting to go either have to become sponsors or align themselves with an existing sponsor.
Numbers are limited to 400 people so time is of the essence.
