Standard & Poor's Fund Services (S&P) has awarded four stars to the Bennelong Australian Equity Fund and the Bennelong Concentrated Australian Equity Fund, the first two products to be launched by boutique fund Bennelong Australian Equity Partners (BAEP).

BAEP was established in July last year, when former ING Investment Management fund managers Paul Cuddy and Mark East joined forces with Bennelong Funds Management.

"The team's tie-up with Bennelong is considered by S&P to be one of the better boutique arrangements, which also bodes well for future stability," S&P analyst James Gunn said.

Despite the recent launch of the funds, S&P decided to give them four stars because of the team's four-year track record of outperformance at their former employer.
