Financial planning software provider AdviserLogic has released a module that helps the system integrate with Microsoft Outlook.

The module provides two-way synchronisation of appointments, tasks and emails.

"We were invariably getting the question: does it sync with Outlook?" AdviserLogic managing director Gundeep Sidhu said.

"We got the message."

The software company has also developed a version of its system for web-enabled mobile phones, such as Apple's iPhone.

"We're in the 21st century now," Sidhu said.

"People expect to be able to get data where and when it suits them. The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently is paramount."

Advisers can log on from their phones to see client contact and investment details, and review or create file notes and tasks.

They can also allow clients to log on and see their portfolio details.

The company is working on several other enhancements to the system that will be released shortly.
