Nothing is more seriously scary for people attending an industry function than calls for audience participation during the organised entertainment.

And so it was for delegates at the recent Self-Managed Super Fund Professionals' Association of Australia (SPAA) National Conference attending the official cocktail function that highlighted Adelaide fringe artists.

The performer in question was Pandora and she was after someone to help her perform a series of tricks with her nine boxes.

And this was one occasion where having your company's display near the stage was a disadvantage as this is from where her assistant was plucked.

While minding his own business on the Rabobank stand, Keenan Bunning was shot to instant stardom as an Elvis impersonator assisting Pandora's performance.

And while he was a good sport about it, your scribe couldn't say he was as eager as his Christian name would suggest.

But full marks to him for being a good sport.

However, your scribe couldn't help but think it may have been a better fit if someone from a rival financial services organisation had been a part of the show.

In line with the Elvis theme perhaps a representative from Navigator may have been more appropriate. After all they could have gone the extra mile and entertained the crowd with a song - perhaps "Aviva Las Vegas".
