Association of Financial Advisers national president Jim Taggart is no square, showing that even a busy man can let his hair down in creative ways.

Nevertheless, even at play the paternalistic figure finds it hard to shake off his role of adviser, dishing up wholesome advice while trying to get a sports program off the ground.

"Sport at all levels teaches us many things about life and ourselves", Taggart says.

"The reason we became involved was because we love all sports and believe the values of excellence, integrity, hard work and discipline are what our companies stand for."

Having lived in Sydney's Hills district for the past 26 years, Taggart is adding another feather to his hat in terms of his involvement in his local community.
