St George Bank will provide a mentoring program for small businesses to help them grow.

The program consists of a two-day workshop, followed by an online session with their own business coach, and will cover topics from business planning, recruitment and time management to marketing and improving cash flow.

The program was timely given the current economic uncertainty, St George Bank head of small business banking Brett MacKinlay said.

"There are many people with great small business ideas who are daunted by the current economic environment and confidence levels have been hit hard.

However, it's not all doom and gloom, there are still many great opportunities out there and it's our job to help get these opportunities off the ground and turn them into reality," MacKinlay said.

The program is open to existing small business owners and to individuals thinking of starting a small business of their own.
