Print more money

A variety of solutions has been put forward on how to overcome the credit crisis.

Some of the less prudent among us have suggested printing more money to get around the shortage of liquidity.

Well surprisingly it would appear the federal government is already doing it. But it's a boost of legal tender for commemorative reasons rather than a response to the credit crunch.

The new currency has come in the guise of a $1 ANZAC coin that includes the design of a former serviceman and a young child to symbolise the remembrance of the sacrifices Australian diggers made as well as the generations following them.

And this is just the start as the coin will be a part of a new annual legal tender program with each subsequent coin bearing a different symbolic design.
