Standard & Poor's Fund Services (S&P) has assigned a five-star rating to the AMP Capital Core Property Fund after AMP Capital Investors (AMPCI) introduced monthly liquidity windows earlier this month.

The fund had been on hold since March, when daily redemptions were suspended. "Despite the downturn in property markets, we believe the investment team will be able to deliver on the fund's objectives through its high-quality investments by using AMPCI's wider property expertise and positioning the portfolio to take advantage of expected differences between the relative performance of listed and direct property markets," S&P analyst Kelly Napier said.

"The investment team has proven capable of managing the fund's liquidity. In two quarterly windows, 100 per cent of investor redemption requests were paid out and the manager maintained the fund's preferred overweight position towards listed property securities."
