BGL strikes partnership with Computershare

A new partnership in SMSF administration will make the recording of payment and shareholding information more efficient.

BGL Corporate Solutions has joined forces with Computershare Investor Services Australia to improve the automated data capture process foe self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs).

The deal means shareholding information held by Computershare will now be available for SMSF administrators using BGL's Simple Fund software through data feeds.

"Until now, BGL has only been able to supply our clients with bank account, contract note, ASX and Unlisted Unit Trust data," BGL managing director Ron Lesh said.

Registry data from Computershare completes the picture with fast and convenient access to payment information and shareholding balances. Put together our clients can significantly reducing processing costs and greatly improving efficiency."

The SMSF software specialists launched the capability recently and has had a very positive response from clients ever since, he said.

The capability allows for the possibility of manual record keeping for SMSF administrators and trustees becoming an obsolete practice in the immediate future.

The information provided to BGL is encrypted to ensure adequate security levels are maintained.
