His short-term contracted relationship to FirstFolio had come to an expiry and the company was not seeking another chief executive contract, a FirstFolio spokesperson said.
The board has asked Greg Pynt and Tony Harris to act as executive directors while FirstFolio commences a search for a permanent chief executive, the company announced in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange yesterday.
Hancock was appointed to the role in late June this year by FirstFolio chairman Eric Dodd, having previously been engaged by the board as a consultant.
Pynt will oversee the activities of Firstfolio Capital, a specialist funder and servicer operating in the wholesale residential mortgage and asset finance markets. Harris will oversee the company's broader operating activities.
Hancock had taken over former acting chief executive Mark Flack who stepped down as a director.
