Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has added to its senior leadership team, in a spate of changes to the company.
Michael Stapleton has been moved into a newly created position of managing director Asia Pacific, which will see him responsible for institutional relationship management, consultant relationships, sales activities and marketing and communications in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of Mr Stapleton's appointment, Chris Turpin will move from his current position of global head of product at CFSGAM to managing director EMEA.
Kanesh Lakhani will also be moved into a position of head of distribution, EMEA and global consultant relationships.
"All three individuals are highly experienced and have demonstrated a deep understanding of our global business, an unwavering commitment to our clients and an ability to deliver on our strategic priorities," CFSGAM chief executive Mark Lazberger said.
"They are ideally suited to position the business for growth in these challenging market positions."
The changes have also meant that regional managing director for Australia and New Zealand Joanna Davison and regional managing director EMEA Gary Withers have left the company.
Mr Stapleton has worked within CFSGAM since 1998 and has held a number of roles including his most recent as regional managing director for Asia and Japan, which he has held since 2009.
In his new role, he will continue to oversee the business development and sales activities of CFSGAM in Asia and Japan.
Mr Stapleton also held a role at CFSGAM as head of business development in the UK and worked within the institutional business development team in Melbourne.
