Life insurance group TAL has recruited former London-based Fidelity Worldwide Investment executive director of technology, David Gillespie, as its new chief information officer.
In his previous role Mr Gillespie's accountabilities included change projects and the operational components of information technology, according to TAL.
He was also previously the head of application delivery and enterprise services for Fidelity, and has a broad background in information technology at organisations such as Compaq, global technology consulting business EDS and BUPA, in countries such as the UK, the US, Germany, Switzerland, India and Australia, TAL stated.
TAL said it is currently refocusing its business systems, processes and culture around customers.
"Technology is increasingly playing a part in enabling customers to access the peace of mind that they are covered if there is a loss of income or wealth in the event of ill health, accident or death," said TAL managing director Jim Minto.
"David brings deep knowledge and experience in delivering technology solutions that are focused around customers throughout the world, and this fits with TAL's refocused customer strategy."
