Chi-X Australia, a subsidiary of alternative trading firm Chi-X Global, has announced today that John Fildes will be their next chief executive.
The veteran of senior positions at MSCI, Morgan Stanley, Instinet and Getco is to replace the current CEO, Peter Fowler.
Tal Cohen, CEO of Chi-X Global, in a statement praised Mr Fildes' experience.
"John Fildes has worked in or with the Australian market for two decades and is a well-regarded member of the Australian trading community," he said.
Mr Cohen further paid tribute to Peter Fowler and his role in building Chi-X Australian trading operations.
"It cannot be overstated how critical his [Peter's] leadership was in successfully launching the exchange and building support from the industry," he said.
Mr Fowler will be replaced by Mr Fildes on 1 May this year.
