Former nabCapital global markets head Martin Halloran takes up a CIO role at Australian Ethical.

Australian Ethical has appointed Martin Halloran as its new chief investment officer.

Formerly nabCapital's managing director-global markets, Halloran will take up the new role with Australian Ethical from August 27, 2008.

Australian Ethical are set to benefit greatly from Halloran's strengths in risk management, equity derivatives and experience in leading teams of finance professionals, Australian Ethical head of distribution Paul Harding-Davis said.

"He has spent much of the last year developing the traded environmental markets capacity at nabCapital, and brings detailed understanding of these current issues," he said.

"He will further add to the management of the various Australian Ethical portfolios, particularly in the areas of fixed income and the Balanced Trust."

Australian Ethical has not experienced the kind of staff upheaval that other Australian fund managers have had to contend with over the past few years, Harding-Davis told InvestorDaily.

"We have possibly the most stable team in the industry and we've had very little turnover," he said.

"The only turnover we've had in the last few years is an analyst who left and came back a year later."
