Perpetual reshuffles the supervision of its ethical fund with the appointment of a sole manager.

Perpetual Investments has announced that Simon Bridger will assume sole management of the Perpetual Ethical SRI Fund.

Bridger had previously jointly managed the ethical fund with Perpetual's head of Australian equities John Sevior.

Following the reshuffle Sevior will continue to focus on developing new strategies for Perpetual's Australian equities funds, and managing the firm's Pure Value Fund and the Concentrated Equity Fund.

Bridger, who has been part of the Australian equities core team since July 2008, had proved to be an excellent addition to the division, Perpetual's Australian equities chief operating officer Cathy Doyle said.

"After 18 months at Perpetual, he is familiar with our investment process and culture and has performed extremely well," she said.

The SRI fund experienced exceptional gross performance of 43.9 per cent in the 12 months to October 2009.

Doyle said the screening process for the fund was applied only to stocks that had already passed Perpetual's quality filters of sound management, conservative debt, quality of business and recurring earnings.
