Ascalon Capital Managers has appointed Jason Collins to the newly created role of head of distribution, a position which he will take up as of February next year.
Collins joins from BT Financial Group where he has been head of corporate communications for the past six months, following a five year stint with Deutsche Bank in Singapore.
Ascalon's positive fund flows and the possibility of future new boutique investments meant it was important to add a senior manager to the team, chief executive Andrew Landman said.
"I have worked with Jason in the past and know that he builds good relationships, is a talented communicator and a very capable manager. He is widely respected by current and past colleagues and brings to Ascalon a strong knowledge of investment products, platforms and distribution models," he said.
"Ascalon has received strong net flows over the past quarter, aided by strong investment performance of our boutiques as well as increased ownership certainty through the full acquisition by BT Financial Group.
"With this growth, and the possibility of future investments, we have been looking to add a senior management resource in distribution."
