Macquarie Private Wealth has hired former Professional Investment Services (PIS) senior manager Tom Lawton to its business.
The firm has also internally appointed Jamie Melville to its wealth management business.
Both Lawton and Melville will lead Macquarie's wealth management businesses in Queensland and Victoria, respectively.
The appointments are part of the firm's bid to build its advice footprint on the eastern seaboard of Australia.
At PIS Lawton held various senior management roles and most recently was group manager for network dealer services and international business development.
In his new role, Lawton will focus on further expanding the financial advisory team and distribution footprint in Queensland.
Melville previously worked in Macquarie's relationship banking division, where he led a national team specialising in providing banking services to the financial planning and accounting segments of the market.
He brings more than 17 years of experience to his new position and an in-depth knowledge of financial planning accounting business models.
Macquarie Private Wealth executive director Jane Watts said both individuals bring with them an extensive network of contacts that would benefit the business and clients.
"Macquarie Private Wealth's wealth management business has always maintained a focus on delivering high quality support and service to our clients and on bringing quality professionals into the team," she said.
"The roles that Tom and Jamie will play will be pivotal as we continue to concentrate on turbo charging the business and deepening our client relationships."
