Industry Super Network (ISN) has expanded its management team, appointing Alison McIvor to the roles of deputy chief executive and chief operations officer.
A former marketing manager for AustralianSuper, McIvor will have national responsibility for finance, business planning, operations and workflow management in her new role at ISN.
She will also assume line management of the joint industry funds marketing campaign, stakeholder communications and commercial projects.
McIvor's extensive industry experience and commercial acumen would prove invaluable to the organisation, ISN chief executive David Whiteley said.
"Alison is one of the most highly respected people within the superannuation industry and we are delighted she has agreed to come on board," he said.
"She brings a wealth of experience and skills, particularly from when she spent over a decade with Australian Retirement Fund (ARF) and then AustralianSuper."
McIvor's appointment would also boost ISN's ability to deliver on the reform agenda it has set for itself, Whiteley said.
"Alison will be an integral part of ensuring we achieve this going forward," he said.
"During her time with ARF she played a pivotal role in the merger with Superannuation Trust of Australia to form AustralianSuper, the largest merger in Australia's superannuation history."
McIvor's appointment takes the ISN executive team to a total of four.
The association's executive staff also includes chief economist Sacha Vidler and chief policy officer Mathew Linden. Linden was Wayne Swan's former senior adviser.
