MLC and NAB Wealth has made changes to its insurance and culture executive teams.

MLC has named Megan Beer general manager of group insurance, promoting her from the role of head of finance after just two years with the group.

In her new role, Beer will lead the growth and development of group insurance, the division that sells cover to superannuation funds and corporate organisations.

She will report to MLC executive general manager of insurance Duncan West.

"We have experienced strong growth in our group insurance business in recent times and we look forward to building on that momentum," West said in a statement.

"Group insurance is a key driver of growth for Australian insurers and, with Megan's guidance, we expect to take full advantage of that."

Beer has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, including more than 12 years in insurance.

Prior to joining MLC, she was at Tower Australia for seven years in various roles, including head of risk, planning and analysis, chief risk officer and chief actuary.

Beer replaces Andrew Howard who is now MLC & NAB Wealth's General Manager, People & Culture reporting directly to Steve Tucker as a member of his leadership team.

Howard's new role involves recruitment, retention and training and development, an MLC spokeswoman said.
