Suncorp has launched online insurance product Family Protect.
Its research found only one in four women aged 30 to 45, whose husband earns the larger or only income, is covered by life insurance. However, the basic cost of running a household, including childcare, cleaning and ironing can start at $370 a week. The aim of the product is to provide cover should the worst happen to a homemaker spouse. It provides cover of up to $400,000. Customers answer five simple questions to apply.
