Phil Anderson has left the funds management sector to join the financial planning ranks.

Phil Anderson has left the funds management sector to join the financial planning ranks.

The associate director at Macquarie Adviser Services will join the Avenue Capital Management Blue Street branch in North Sydney in July.

Anderson spent 23 years with product providers, most recently in business development for cash products at Macquarie.

"With my experience in working with a wide range of financial planners to strengthen their businesses, I feel I have a particular contribution to make mentoring new advisers and paraplanners," he said.

Peter Hogan, one of six financial planners that work out of Avenue's Blue Street branch, said Anderson would expand the client base and develop the business.

"His broad knowledge of all asset classes will equip him to make a formidable contribution to his clients' wealth creation and protection strategies," Hogan said.
