Listed funds management group MFS has snapped up former WHK Group chief Graeme Fowler.
MFS has appointed Fowler chief financial officer, starting in January 2008.
"They're good people at MFS, that's important to me," Fowler told InvestorDaily.
"There are good assets in the business and I see a really good opportunity in MFS to really be successful. I've got the skills that they need to take the business forward."
Chartered accountant Fowler was previously WHK Group chief financial officer and chief executive officer.
He quit on July 23after four-and-a-half years at the helm of Australia's fifth largest accounting group.
MFS Limited deputy chief executive Craig White said the group approached Fowler after reading about his resignation.
"He will bring a good deal of added value and expertise to the role," White said.
Based in Sydney, Fowler will head a team of up to 30 people.
Current MFS chief financial officer David Anderson will remain until Fowler takes over in January and then remain in its investment banking and corporate finance groups.
MFS has a market capitalisation of more than $2 billion and more than $4 billion in funds under management.
WHK Group managing director Kevin White has taken on Fowler's responsibilities until a replacement is found.
