Five financial advisers have joined Brisbane-based Futuro Financial Services.

Well-established Sunshine Coast certified financial planner Bob Dawson, formerly with Bongiorno Financial Advisers, has signed up his practice in Buddina.

Certified practising accountant (CPA) Michele O'Connor and CFP and CPA Neville Hughes of GTC Financial Services, Gladstone, Queensland, have also joined, as have Mark Robinson and Scott McKeown in Buddina. Futuro has also recruited financial planning practice Stable Wealth in Victoria Park, Perth. This brings its representation in Western Australia to six practices and 11 authorised representatives since kicking off there in April last year.
Futuro Financial Services managing director Dennis Bashford said the group was selective and a quarter of advisers who applied did not get in.

"We only invite them in if we can see significant upside in the relationship for both parties," Bashford said. Fututro focuses on financial planners with mature practices, but Bashford said its principals had helped member firms with their expansion plans.

The purpose-built dealer group, formed in 2002, has 60 planners, $85 million of in-force premiums and $1.3 billion in funds under administration. It has representatives in all Australian states, apart from Tasmania.
