Three quarters of Australians think their boss is a good leader, according to Newspoll.

Honesty and integrity are the most important qualities in Australian top bosses, according to research for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).

A study by Newspoll of 1200 Australians found 20 per cent rated clear vision and direction highly in a leader.

Fifteen per cent said having employee respect was the most important trait while seven per cent thought social responsibility was the most important.

Of the 750 surveyed that were in employment, 72 per cent said their immediate boss or manager was a good leader.
