Property investment professionals face regulation and accreditation, PIAA chief warns.

Residential property investment specialist and financial planner Margaret Lomas has been appointed Property Investment Association of Australia (PIAA) chairman.

The Destiny Financial Solutions founder will take the position from PIAA founder and inaugural chairman John Hopkins on January 1.

PIAA's mission is to create standards, accreditation and training for property investment advisers and property professionals.

"With regulation and accreditation for property professionals in the pipeline, I am excited about the positive impact the PIAA will have on the industry," Lomas said.
