WHK names new chief

Financial services company WHK Group has found a new leader.

Major accounting company WHK Group has appointed Mike Pepperell as chief operating officer, effective from March 1.

Pepperell is project advisory firm Planpower chief executive. He replaces former chief executive Graeme Fowler who resigned in July for lifestyle reasons and to return to Sydney.

Fowler was appointed MFS chief financial officer, a job he was due to start today. He decided not to join the troubled listed funds management group and remains at leisure.

WHK Group has announced two acquisitions which add $1.3 million to member firms' annualised revenue.

CBD-based WHK Horwath Sydney bought a Mortgage Choice franchise with $300 million in loans and annual revenue of $1.1 million finance broking business.

The deal was for cash and 190,000 WHK Group shares. It was completed on December 20.

Risk specialist Diamond Life Financial Services has been acquired by member firm WHK LRK-Walkers and relocated to the firm's Toowoomba office.

It has annual trail revenue of $200,000. It was bought for cash in a deal completed on January 14.

These transactions will increase total annualised acquired revenue in the financial year to approximately $42.9 million.
