Standard & Poor's (S&P) Fund Services has given an investment grade rating to the Credit Suisse PL-100 Emerging Markets Development Trust.

Standard & Poor's (S&P) Fund Services has given an investment grade rating to the Credit Suisse PL-100 Emerging Markets Development Trust.

The trust will invest in 20 international companies involved in the infrastructure industry and make money from emerging markets.

Michael Clapham, head of equities structured products for Credit Suisse in Australia and New Zealand, said infrastructure spending in emerging markets would reach more than $1 trillion in three years.

Clapham said China, India, Russia and the Middle East had huge infrastructure products underway.

Credit Suisse will provide daily liquidity to the fund. Macquarie Equities is the organising broker with Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Ord Minnett as lead managers.

The trust opens on October 29 and is expected to list on the Australian Securities Exchange on December 19.
