Aviva's Riskfirst platform has helped the company top a best life insurance survey.

Insurance group Aviva Australia (Aviva) was judged the best life insurance provider from a survey by Taylor Management Consultants (TMC).

Aviva performed strongly in the 41 categories, excelling in underwriting speed, client and adviser relationships, record keeping and hasty application processing, the 2007 Taylor Life Insurance Industry survey found.

In June Aviva launched the $7 million Riskfirst platform to 4000 advisers through its Navigator platform. The company reported a 25 per cent boost to inflows just a month after its release.

Aviva chief executive Allan Griffiths said the results showed the company's online insurance platform, Riskfirst, was having a strong effect in capturing market share.

"We will raise the bar higher in 2008 as we have plans in place to deliver another improvement in the life insurance market," Griffiths said.

Zurich Financial Services Australian and Tower Australia Group came second and third in the survey, respectively.

More than 1600 advisers from 11 different companies were surveyed in the survey.
