Former ANZ financial planning chief Mike Goodall has resurfaced at a research firm.

Research firm Plan For Life (PFL) has hired former ANZ Financial Planning general manager Mike Goodall to develop new software for advisers.

Goodall joined the firm yesterday as a risk consultant.

He will work with PFL's team to add features to its Risk Online Quotation Service (ROQS) software.

"Having a product background, my role is to improve the functionality and ease of use so the software is more attractive for advisers and dealer groups to use," Goodall told InvestorDaily

The quotation software, which is still in a testing phase, allows advisers to quickly view and compare quotes on risk insurance products from different companies.

More than 1000 advisers have been trialing the software and it is expected to be launched by March this year, PFL managing director Simon Solomon said.

PFL started developing ROQS three years ago.

Risk insurance quotes from firms AMP, Zurich, Asteron, St George Bank and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia will be available on ROQS while Aviva, ING Australia and AIG are in a trial phase.

The cost for advisers to use this software is still being finalised, but Solomon estimated the price range to be $400 plus tax for 400 risk insurance quotes.

Goodall left ANZ last September and manages his own financial services firm, Inpro Australia.

He also formerly ran ING's dealer groups Millennium3 and RetireInvest.
