Investment management firm Capital Partners has unveiled expansion plans just weeks after rebranding its business.
The Sydney based firm renamed itself to CP2 late last week.
"(The rebrand) was to reflect the evolution of the business as we go from a research to reflect the next stage of our business which is in asset management," CP2 head of Australian business Ken Licence told InvestorDaily.
He also said the name change was made to differentiate the group from others with a similar name.
In terms of the group's expansion, CP2 plans to boost its staff numbers to 40 from 33 by April.
In 2007 CP2 hired head of human capital Steve Johnson to help recruit graduates and professionals for investment analysis and portfolio strategist roles.
"There are discussions on the table with a number of large offshore and onshore pension schemes (for investment mandates)," Licence said.
CP2 manages more than $3.3 billion across its infrastructure and equity funds for high net worth clients and sovereign wealth funds.
The business was formed in 1997 by its chief executive Peter Doherty.
