Pinnacle Investment Management (Pinnacle) plans to strengthen its distribution arm with the hire of former Legg Mason executive Andrew Chambers.
Chambers has stepped into the newly-created position of Pinnacle director of distribution and client relationships, Pinnacle managing director Ian Macoun said.
Chambers was previously Legg Mason vice president and business development manager.
He will be responsible for liaising with asset consultants, research houses and investment clients on behalf of Pinnacle's boutiques including Resolution Capital, Solaris Investment Management, Plato Investment Management and Palisade Investment Partners.
Pinnacle is also expecting to make a similar hire in its Sydney office in the next few months, Macoun said.
"The reason for two such appointments in quick succession is that the current boutiques in the Pinnacle family are beginning to build real momentum in the market," he said.
Last November, the entire equities team of financial services firm Suncorp defected to form Solaris Investment Management.
