Research house van Eyk has broken off its alliance with its independent counterpart Aegis.
van Eyk will now use alternatives research firm Adviser Edge to source its structured products reviews.
"Adviser Edge saw the opportunity last year to expand its research into the quickly growing market for structured products," Adviser Edge head of structured products research Geoff Watkins said.
The decision to drop Aegis was amicable and was made so the group can use one research provider for its agribusiness, property and structured reviews, a statement from van Eyk said.
It will also ensure more consistent reporting and one rating systems which should make it easier for financial planners and clients, van Eyk said.
Adviser Edge has a base in Sydney which focuses on property research and an office in St Kilda, Victoria, which focuses on agribusiness research.
The two firms have held an alliance since 2004 where Adviser Edge's four-star or better reviews are endorsed by van Eyk for distribution purposes.
Aegis was unavailable for comment.
