MSCI makes changes to indices

Investment support tools provider MSCI Barra has made changes to several of its equity indices, including the MSCI Global Standard and MSCI Global Small Cap Indices, as part of its quarterly index review.

Semiconductor company Infineon Technologies, financial services firm XL Capital and specialty chemicals group Lubrizol Corporation were among 17 securities added to the MSCI World Index, while three securities were deleted.

Integrated coal corporation Fushan International Energy and real estate conglomerate Hopson Development Holdings were among additions to the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

Three securities have joined the MSCI Global Small Cap Indices, while 34 have been deleted.

United States bank holding company Associated Banc-Corp was added to the MSCI World Small Cap Index, while Kumho Industrial and Korea Line Corporation have been affixed to the MSCI Emerging Markets Small Cap Index.

As part of review, securities added to or deleted from the MSCI Global Standard Indices were added to or deleted from the MSCI Global Value and Growth Indices, MSCI Barra said.
