Oamps Insurance Brokers has appointed former Axa Australia state manager Michael Meysztowicz to head up its specialist life insurance advice division, Oamps Life Solutions.
Meysztowicz will focus on developing a distribution framework incorporating authorised representatives.
Meysztowicz was most recently with Axa Australia's financial advice network as state manager of Victoria and Tasmania. Prior to this he led Axa's Discovery program, which generated $2 billion in new sales and recruited 180 financial advisers.
"Michael's role at Oamps Life Solutions will be focussed on delivering a market-leading licensee offering for advisers who specialise in life risk advice," Oamps Insurance Brokers chief executive Keith McIvor said.
"This offering will complement Oamps' existing insurance broking solutions for its SME [small to medium-sized enterprises] and corporate clients."
McIvor also said Oamps was seeking new advice businesses to join Oamps Life Solutions as authorised representatives.
"With a large general insurance client base of over 120,000 SMEs, including preferred supplier arrangements with over 100 associations and clubs, Oamps believes there is the opportunity for significant referral business for life risk advisers," McIvor said.
