AMP Capital Investors has appointed Charles Hamieh as a senior analyst within its global listed infrastructure investment team.
The appointment comes as the asset manager gears up to launch the new AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Securities Fund in the third quarter.
Hamieh has over 12 years of experience in infrastructure, including over six years in listed infrastructure and utility securities with AMP Capital.
He was previously a Hastings infrastructure securities director and Challenger fund manager.
"Charles will focus on the Australian and Asian markets as we look to launch the new AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Fund to investors later this year," AMP Capital global portfolio manager Craig Noble said.
"As markets and companies differ around the world, it is important to have local teams on the ground in local markets to discover compelling investment opportunities for investors."
The AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Securities Fund will be available to both retail and institutional investors.
The product will offer investors exposure to infrastructure assets including "inflation hedge" assets such as electricity transmission and distribution, through to growth industries such as airports and satellite communications.
The AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Securities Fund will be benchmarked against the Dow Jones Brookfield Global Infrastructure Index.
