MSCI Barra reshuffles benchmark

Indices provider MSCI Barra has made changes to several of its equity benchmarks following a semi-annual index review.

Forty-two securities were added while 45 were removed from its MSCI Global Standard indices, which include the MSCI World Index and MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

United States-based financial services firm CIT Group and Canadian gold producer Red Back Mining were among the biggest additions to the MSCI World Index.

Indonesian tobacco company Gudang Garam and China-based Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing were among the largest inclusions to the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

For the MSCI All Country World Index Value Index, the largest additions or style changes from growth to value were Spain's Telefonica, Johnson & Johnson and China Mobile.
