"The latest offering from Desktop Broker means clients can now trade equities online using Desktop Broker," Bell Direct chief executive Arnie Selvarajah said.
"At the same time, financial advisers can have a complete view of all transactions that have taken place on their clients' accounts, regardless of whether they or the client placed the trade."
Selvarajah said advisers could still trade on their clients' behalf or they could give trading access to their clients who wanted to take a more active role in managing their equities portfolio.
"This feature is particularly useful at tax time when many advisers need to report on all their clients' assets and liabilities and don't always have access to all their clients' activities," he said.
