AMP Capital Investors (AMPCI) has ended its relationship with Castellar Partners, which had been the United States-focused research consultant for the Total Return Fund.

“The research and advisory function has been consolidated to improve efficiency and reduce the operational challenge of multiple independent supplier relationships,” AMPCI investment director, investment and client solutions, Sean Henaghan said.

The Total Return Fund’s United Kingdom-based hedge fund research partner, Strathmore Capital, will remain as the sole adviser, assuming responsibility for research of both the European and North American markets, he said.

“The Total Return Fund investment team has full confidence in Strathmore’s capacity to manage the fund’s research requirements, given its strong research team and track record, in-depth coverage and established infrastructure,” Henaghan said.

“Further, Strathmore is looking to expand its US-based operations.”

He said the Total Return Fund’s investment team would continue to research and monitor the Asia Pacific universe.
