Steve Boulton has retired as chief executive and director of Hastings Funds Management.
The Westpac-owned company's chairman, Alan Cameron, said Boulton had made a valuable contribution to the strategic direction and development of Hastings over the past three-and-a-half years.
The company appointed Alan Freer to the role of interim chief executive.
"Mr Freer is an experienced leader and executive with an intimate knowledge of the Hastings business, having previously served as a board member and as acting chief executive of Hastings," Hastings said in a statement.
"He is a director of Epic Energy Holdings and was also its foundation chief executive."
The company said a new chief executive would be announced once the recruitment and selection process had been completed.
Hastings specialises in managing infrastructure, private equity and high-yield investments and has more than $5 billion in funds under management.
