Premium Wealth Management has hired Australian Ethical's former sales and marketing head Paul Harding-Davis to take over Jeremy Wardell and Helen Bridgewood's duties.

Premium Wealth Management has appointed Paul Harding-Davis as its new general manager, replacing Jeremy Wardell and Helen Bridgewood.

Harding-Davis was most recently fund manager Australian Ethical Investment's head of sales and marketing and has also held roles at Glebe Asset Management, Absolute Capital and Zurich Financial Services.

He will take over the duties of previous general manager Bridgewood, who retired last week after 10 years' with the dealer group and also Wardell, who left Premium by mutual agreement.

"Paul's focus at Premium will include both managing the day-to-day operations of the group and the recruitment of new member firms," Premium chairman Simon Wu said.

"In addition to nearly 30 years of business development and marketing, Paul's experience includes managing operations and compliance, providing leadership and strategic direction, plus the establishment and growth of successful new ventures in financial planning.

"Paul will be a great addition to the head office team at Premium.  We look forward to working with him to achieve continued success and growth."

Wardell left Premium recently after being at the helm since late February.

Wu said Wardell's view of the dealer group's business strategy was different to that of the board's.

"There's no right or wrong; everybody has different views," he said.

Prior to working at Premium, Wardell was head of Countplus until November 2010 when his contract expired. He was predominantly focused on acquiring stakes in accountancy and financial planning practices that enhanced the Countplus group's existing offerings.
